Welcome to the Wey Navigations

The site consists of the River Wey and its navigations between Weybridge, Guildford and Godalming. It also features the adjoining waterways which form onward links to Sussex and Hampshire. All the waterways featured share a strong common heritage. For the National Trust's River Wey Navigations site please click here

Noted waterways writer visits the Wey Navigations:

Since the last item in April, this site has been very quiet. On the navigations themselves, the usual boats and regular steamers have been busy plying up and down the Wey. New moorings are being installed at Triggs Lock, and some of the gates are being repainted - although one wonders why the paddle gear at Newark lock has been painted black rather than the usual white. The wharf buildings and cottages at Dapdune recieved a major repaint whilst Reliance's protective weather covers were repaired and a new supporting framework built. For a change the main picture shows a visiting boat as opposed to one seen on the navigations. Jim Shead, who is a regular contributor to the waterway magazines and manages a comprehensive website (no.1 in the UK waterways rankings!), visited the navigations in May/June. The picture shows his boat at Millmead on Bank Holiday Monday 30 May en route to Godalming.
